If you’re in the market for a cheap inkjet printer then the Stylus D92 is the new cheap and cheerful entry level inkjet from Epson. The price of the D92 certainly is cheap, but the price of the Epson D92 ink cartridges will not make you cheerful because they cost the same as the printer itself. The cost of the replacement printer ink cartridges is one of the most important things to check before buying an inkjet printer and also check if there are cheaper compatible printer cartridges avaible, luckily there are compatibles available for the Stylus D92 and they cost a faction of what the originals do. Printing performance of the D92 is good whether you’re printing text documents or photos the quality of print is sharp and clear. The D92 is let down however in one area – speed. The speed in which this printer produces documents is extremely slow even for the most budget of budget printers, the official specs say that it capable of printing 25 pages per minute in draft quality setting but the problem with the draft quality setting is that the print is barely readable its so faint. The speed it prints Photos is even worse as they require the D92 to be in the highest quality setting and this reduces the speed considerably, so much so that a single 10×15 photo print takes over five minutes from start to finish. Basically the Stylus D92 is a great printer as long as you don’t need to print high volumes of stuff, if you do then the Stylus D92 is definitely not for you.
